How do PoolScout alerts work?

In the event of a high-severity scenario, such as unattended toddler, PoolScout will activate the Alarm unit (if enabled) and will send alerts to all the contacts added to your PoolScout app.

Within the app, the Live Stream allows you to quickly decide how to react. When an unsafe scenario is detected, the app displays the most relevant actions you might need to perform, as well as your predetermined contacts, so you can reach those people when it matters most.

What is the PoolScout app?

The PoolScout app is the control panel for your PoolScout System.

PoolScout is an artificial intelligence (AI) detection system that is entirely automatic, with no human intervention or monitoring required. If a dangerous situation is identified, the system will automatically raise an alert via the PoolScout app (installed on one or more home account mobile phones) and also through the alarm unit.

PoolScout is the only safety system that can distinguish between toddlers, other people and pets* in real-time.

What is PoolScout about?

PoolScout’s advanced AI monitors the pool 24/7, detecting and tracking toddlers and adults to generate reliable, real-time alerts.

What type of events trigger alerts?

PoolScout provides the following alerts (that activate the alarm unit):

1. Unattended Toddler - If a toddler (4 years old or younger) is identified in or around the pool without adult supervision

2. Person Underwater - If a person inside the pool is submerged for more than 10 seconds

3. Person Detected (Security Mode) - If Security Mode is active and a person is detected

In addition, PoolScout will also send users the following notifications (no alert sound)

1. Pool in Use notification - If a person enters the pool

2. Camera position moved

How does PoolScout respond in an unsafe scenario?

When PoolScout identifies an unsafe scenario, an alert is sent to the users' phone(s) and the PoolScout Alarm unit is also activated. The Live Stream allows for you to quickly decide on how to react. During an alert, the app displays the most relevant actions you might need to perform as well as your predetermined contacts, so you can reach those people when it matters most.

How does the AI work?

PoolScout is the only pool monitoring system that can distinguish between toddlers, adults and pets in realtime. It automatically recognizes unsafe scenarios, allowing for priceless time to react.

It works with a proprietary algorithm, constantly learning from previous scenarios.

I’m getting too many ‘pool in use’ notifications

If you don’t want to be notified when someone is using the pool, you can turn these messages off from Settings/Alerts/Preferences.

Can I mute alerts?

Yes, you can mute alerts for Unattended Toddler, Person Underwater and Security mode for 15 minutes, 1 hour or 24 hours. Please ensure there’s constant adult supervision while alerts are muted.

If you don’t wish to receive pool in use notifications while you mute alerts, you can disable them from Settings/Alerts/Preferences.

Does PoolScout replace pool supervision?

No. PoolScout is an added layer of safety and is not intended to replace adult supervision at any time.

What is Security mode?

Beyond its key safety features, PoolScout also provides a layer of security around your pool. When Security mode is on, PoolScout alerts if any person (adults included) is detected around the pool area. This mode can be turned on manually, or scheduled to go on/off at specific times.

Alternatively, you can enable ‘Security Mode at Night’ preference from Settings/Alerts. When turned on, it auto-activates Security mode every night from sunset to sunrise.
