What are the technical requirements for PoolScout?

The technical requirements for the PoolScout System are:

  1. Broadband internet with at least 5.0 Mbs upload speed

  2. 115/120V outlet

  3. A wired ethernet connection to your router. Power over ethernet adapters are acceptable. Ethernet-over-Wi-Fi is not supported as range and signal reliability issues could compromise the service.

  4. A mobile device running the PoolScout app on at least IOS 12 or Android 6.0

  • Internet with at least 5.0 Mbps upload speed

  • 115/120V outlet

  • Within range of your Wi-Fi router

  • A mobile device running the PoolScout app on at least IOS 12 or Android 6.0

  • Broadband internet with at least 5.0 Mbps upload speed

  • 115/120V outlet

How do I pair the Camera?

Every PoolScout comes with a sticker containing a QR code, MAC address or both.

When prompted by the app, scan the camera's QR code. If you don't see a QR code, manually type in the camera's MAC address.

Your app will then attempt to pair to your Camera.

What happens during a power or internet failure?

Anytime your camera is disconnected, PoolScout will automatically send a notification to your mobile device that the system is offline. You will also receive a notification once you are back online.

I can’t pair the Camera

If you are having difficulties connecting your Camera, please ensure that your camera is connected via ethernet cable directly to your router. Wireless connections are not supported.

The livestream is lagging and there’s a delay

PoolScout Pro:This typically points to an issue with internet connection. Please check that your PoolScout Camera has an ethernet cable connection directly to your router. Wireless connections are not supported for the PoolScout Pro camera

Poor Wi-Fi signal strength: Ensure a strong Wi-Fi signal where the PoolScout camera is installed.

Long delay before your video starts: This is also caused by slow Wi-Fi/ Internet speeds.

The PoolScout system requires a minimum upload speed of 5mbps. You can check your connection speed using any free online speed test tool.
