“One of my neighbors posted on the community Facebook page about it.”

How did the installation setup go?

“It went very well. The tech was very respectful of our home. He spent time finding the best way to mount and route the wiring to make it least intrusive to our home. Downloading the app was painless and the tech ensured camera placement through the app.”

In your own words, what is the product about?

“This product gives peace of mind and provides an added layer of safety to our pool. This product is designed to be a failsafe when other manual safety systems fail (i.e. pool gates or door alarms). It provides real-time alerts and differentiates between adults, toddlers, and pets.”

Has PoolScout helped prevent any accidents?

“Yes, when my wife was outside working around the pool, the gate was unlocked. She went into the house to get something and my three-year-old got into the pool area. She was supposed to be up in her room taking a nap . . .

She managed to get into the pool area undetected by us. She ran and quickly made it to the pool edge and the alarm went off. When the alarm went off she covered her ears and ran back to the gate.

Even though she left the area as soon as she heard the alarm, my wife also heard the alarm and went back outside and was able to make sure everything was ok and turn the alarm off.

I received the alert and alarm on my phone and was able to see exactly what had happened so we could correct our safety errors.

What are your overall impressions of the product so far?

“With the understanding the system is still in development, the product has performed well. It is a valuable tool for keeping our kids safe around the pool.”

How does it compare to other safety products?

“Most safety products are only as good as the operator. For instance, gates can be left open. This product not only gives you peace of mind but has the recordings of alerts so we can learn from a near miss. It also allows multiple people to get alerts so it is not all dependent on a single user.”

“The real-time alerts”
